Well Thank You Dumb Ass

September 8, 2010 2 comments

Months I’ve been waiting for the day to come where the controversy over the Mosque being built near the site of the former World Trade Center dies down (I’m not referring to it as Ground Zero- this isn’t a movie, this is real life and that sounds overly dramatic and downright stupid). But of course, when the day comes it’s not because people actually took a breath of sufficiently oxygenated air (no, I didn’t REALLY expect the general public to all of a sudden become mature and intelligent or respectful of others, turn the other cheek, live and let live or love each other as Jesus told them to, overnight or even over a millenia) and exhaled their demons like the release of smoke from the last cigarette you’ll ever have- promising you a better, healthier life, no… It’s because – some idiot is doing something just as ignorant and stupid as all those calling New York objecting to the Mosque to begin with.

This Jerk…

In his blissful ignorance, thinks that burning a bunch of Quran’s on September 11th is somehow a right thing, or a good thing to do.

Well sir, you are a Dick.

Officially, and on a grande scale- you are very much so, confirmed – a DICK.

Military officials have come forward saying that the action this fool is taking will endanger the lives of military personnel over seas. Still this fool does not retract his intent.

Why would he? This is his 15 minutes of fame. He’s not giving that up for anything or anyone. For many an ignoramus around the country, religious freaks, right-wing hate mongers, hell, even neo-nazis I’m sure- he has become a hero. he likes being a hero. he likes the spotlight. What religious leader doesn’t like the spotlight? I mean, let me rephrase that… What religious leader who passes around a collection plate- doesn’t like the spotlight?

Now, the military thing is a good point. But let’s look at a couple other things that I think the media, in its infinite wisdom to capitalize on riling up the Stupids of the nation- have missed- further proving that theyre not qualified to run news broadcasts…

1. It didn’t take this guy lighting a match to a book for him to boost recruitment for all fanatical muslim factions around the world- all it took was him announcing it. If they are already burning his image, along with our flag, half way around the world- I guarantee you that there are some poorly educated, hungry, very young men watching all of this and since they are young, hungry and poorly educated, they will be easy marks for the terrorists to recruit. A little food, a reason, a little anger, (both thanks to Mr. Dick up there), and now you have a jihadist that will be molded into a tool of destruction taking down both those of his or her own faith as well as those he is bent against.

So Thank You Mr. Idiot, for helping the radicals who want to harm us, to get more people on their side. YOU helped the terrorists- you mother f*cking dick.

2. If what this guy is proposing is putting U.S. lives in danger abroad- shouldnt it be considered an act of terrorism itself? Shouldnt it be considered a threat against national security? What if because of this people are not only killed but also kidnapped? Tortured? Held for ransom? I’m sure there is a lawyer out there somewhere who can make this case in this day and age (post Bush/Guantanamo Bay), and can set the standard by making an example of this fool. A nice hard time sentence of I dunno… let’s say 5+ years? That should let anyone who thinks of burning a book considered by any faith to be holy, in a public forum, that they’re gonna be screaming the name of their own god when the lights go out in their cell every night for 5+ years if they actually do it.

3. In a sort fo 1&2 combo- why isnt the government stepping in to seize this opportunity for peace? What I’m saying is, this is an opportunity for the United States Government to step in and prosecute this dick- and show the world that religious intolerance of any kind- is what will not be tolerated.

Akin to the point I’ve made about the Bush administration’s vengeful reaction to the acts of terrorism on 9.11.2001, where I asked what if we had turned the other cheek, sought out those responsible without invading anyone’s country or going to war on a large-scale (but of course I know-I know, the B.A. had other intentions and seized the moment- If* they didn’t manufacture the opportunity they needed all together)… But if we had turned the other cheek so to speak- the reaction of the world would have been the opposite of that which was recorded by history- anti-American sentiments all over the globe.

Put it this way… I’m a big guy, above average, and I can be pretty intimidating, never intentionally, my curse. Now, if someone came up to me and assaulted me out of no where on the street, and I took the hit, bloody lip, whatever- standers by would of course be shocked- omg all over the place, maybe someone would come up to me and grab my arm to help me up off one knee- right?

What if when I took the hit, I got up and pulled out a gun and shot the guy who punched me in the face- BAM!

Dead.

Now who’s the bad guy?

In the first instance, I have public sympathy, even help.

In the second- I have alienated everyone around me, scared the bejesus out of them, and now I am the public enemy. A killer, when for a split second I was the victim.

What I’m saying is, as I’ve said before- if 9.11 wasn’t about needing a reason to invade countries, then why didn’t we simply stay the victim and garner the worlds sympathy, and help?

This country could have done something so much stronger in respect to eliminating terrorism- and likely uniting the world against all radicalism had we just turned the other cheek. We could have more effectively sought out our enemies in a clandestine manner- as has been done so many other times. Instead, the immense posturing move of going to war only made the problem worse, enriched the terrorists cause and boosted their recruitment as well as swelled their number.

In this case why doesn’t the government step in and say No. No, the United States stands for freedom, but not the freedom to proliferate hate.

If they would do this- not only the muslim world would have more confidence in this institution, but maybe even 1 out of every 4 radicals will say to themselves “hold on before I put on that bomb vest there Mohammed, I know you worked real hard on it and all that, but if the U.S. is such an infidel and stuff… how is it they came down so hard on that guy who wanted to burn our holy book?” and when the radical then excuses himself to go to the restroom, he just doesn’t come back.

Instead he either goes back to his family, gets married, has kids and teaches them to be peaceful and loving by telling them this story, or he leaves and goes to the nearest U.S. Embassy and trades what he knows about his terrorist cell for citizenship.

A win-win scenario if you ask me- but one that is not possible if the government stands by and does nothing. One in four… I’m guesstimating, but I think it’s off the top accurate. If it is, that’s a worldwide 25% drop in their ranks. Sh*t just got easier.

For those who think it would be an infringement on freedoms of religion or speech- you are wrong. Because we were all taught that we have those freedoms- but it never gives us a right to go in a crowded theatre and yell FIRE! Remember?

What the Dick is doing by burning another culture’s holy book is just that- proliferating hate and causing a danger to the general public and/ or military personnel. This action, and even the threat of it is inciting anti-American sentiment and should be handled swiftly by law enforcement.

And that’s my Occasional Opinion.

Thanks Dick, for drawing attention away from the New York Cultural Center, but no thanks for being an all American asshole.

Burn yourself in effigy, makes a better statement and does us all a favor at the same time.

Comment on; Where do you put a Mosque?

Answer: You put a Mosque, and for that matter a Church, a Synagogue, a Temple, a friggin Tree people want to pray to on Arbor Day… Anywhere the laws of the land will allow. This is the United States of America and Freedom, as much as humanly possible, is what we stand for.

I’ll continue this rant on my own blog…

I happen to work for The City of New York in a capacity that affords me the unfortunate privilege to have the opinions of New Yorkers and now with this Mosque debate- any jerk off who has an opinion outside of our city- thrown at me. I have to hear all of it. In the last months, there has been a grand total of three… that’s THREE supportive opinions I have heard regarding this matter- the rest are from people who for all my ability to try and extend my understanding- simply put- need something to hate.

I have had enough time to think of all this. I have heard enough. I have spoken to parents of soldiers both alive and dead. I have spoken to parents and friends of those who died and those who worked at the 9-11 site. For them I feel remorse, of course, but no amount of loss is an excuse for uninformed irrationality- to put it nicely.

I have spoken to the crack pots who dont have anything else better to do but stick their noses in anything the media tells them they should care about. I have spoken to all of these people from all around the country.

Few of them can contain their rage to express themselves in a rational way. Most want to yell at whomever they get on the phone. One bordered on threatening terrorism himself. Most, have southern accents. Most, make the ignorant assumption that the Mayor of New York has the power of a King and that by his decree he has “allowed” this to occur. Those in particular I regard as Idiots.

But again, most just want to hate. The same emotion that fueled those who supposedly flew planes into the towers that morning.

I work here in the area. I was going to school at the foot of the WTC. I was, if not for my genuine disdain for Math Class, supposed to be there that morning. I worked at a school shortly there after- again, at the foot of the WTC, where an entire dorm room floor wall was covered with the names of those students and family of students and faculty that were lost that day.

I come to work every day- tolerant of the tourists holding their maps, looking for “the hole”.

It’s a tourist attraction to people. This, is nauseating to me. There isnt a god damned day I dont feel a sadness inside for what happened here. I see it- every- fucking- day.

So when I hear everybody and their mother think they have a qualified opinion on what goes on here in New York in relevance to the World Trade Center- you can imagine what I feel.

Yet, I tolerate you.

You, who would be no better than Jim Crowe or Hitler and take people’s rights away simply because you have the need… the NEED to hate.

I have to leave this job. I have seen too much of what the general public is like, and honestly, it’s killed my faith in mankind, and even American Ideals.

This country is filled with corruption and bigotry. People, who even if we do have the worst ecducational system in the world, should know better, should recognize that NONE OF US COME FROM THIS LAND! They don’t have the basic kindness and common sense to ever allow me to think this world will be a better place.

Honestly, I’m ok with not having kids now that I’ve worked here, and heard all of you people and your “opinions”.

No one, not one organization in the world, has stepped up to say, when they do build the Mosque, we will come to help. We will lay brick and mortar with you in the name of Peace and for the end of violence and aggression between the faiths of this world.

That, is truly sad.

I’m reading America’s Hidden History by Kenneth C. Davis right now, and in the first few pages alone, I’ve learned the fact that most of history’s conflict, has alwys been about religion. World wide.

I am of no faith, but support any theology that gives people comfort- and no theology that looks to convert or to keep people from their own choice.

I thought once the Bush administration left office, I could be proud to be an American again… but I see that isn’t going to happen. There are just too many hateful bigoted stupid ignorant people in this country and I can’t defend you anymore.

Thanks, all of you.

Thanks for ruining what could have been a wonderful country.

And in a way, maybe thats how we should deal with you. Let you have the country and let you run it into the ground with your hate. When you get yourselves destroyed, we, the peaceful intelligent and tolerant people can come back and be better off.

Change is good they say?

Well let’s see how this change in theme works out. I liked Hemmingway. It was dark and serious like me. But this one caught my eye today. Lets see what happens.

The Mosque

As you may or may not know, I hold a position with the City of New York that for obvious reasons I do not disclose here. In this position though, I unfortunately get a uniquely honest perspective on the general public, that the general public isn’t uniquely aware of. Basically what  that means is that I get a look at you from the inside, as opposed to your view from the outside.

I see you, and I do not like what I see.

Now, am I a patient person? In this case I would jump to say no, I am not. But in close self examination, I really am a patient person. It’s just I do not tolerate stupidity. To further delineate, stupidity to me, is ignorance, inconsiderate of others, a disrespect of the personal space of others, and well, right back to fucking ignorance.

The inability of a human being to look at a situation and discern the truth either likely or verifiably behind that situation, is stupidity to me. The inability of a human being, not mentally handicapped, to discern the validity of their opinion in matters they are not directly related to- to me, is abhorrent stupidity.

Let’s use some examples…

~The MTA Preacher, letting everyone know that Jesus is their savior, at the top of their lungs, in their opinion. Stupid. Disrespectful. Ignorant.

~In the same respect, the Mariachis, Solo Guitarists, Saxophone players, Trumpeter, Violinist, Flutist, Break Dancer, Random Singer (any style), Conga Drummer, yes, fucking congas, and any and all Beggars, drug addicted or handicapped or both- ALL Stupid, Disrespectful and Ignorant.

~Anyone and Everyone who gives them the money they’re asking for- also Stupid, Ignorant and Disrespectful- as well as Criminals, since it’s illegal to solicit for money in the train. Oh, you didn’t see the expensive ad campaign plastered all over the system? You are aiding and abetting criminal activity by reaching in your pocket and enabling these people to keep invading the sanctity of my train ride, that I paid way too much for just like you. In the long run, your lack of fortitude and small mindedness cost us all because it takes police to stop these beggars, and the more you enable them, the more police and police time it takes to process those violations. As well as the afore-mentioned ad expense- attempting to educate you- the enabler. As a result, it’s another reason the fares go up. So thank you- asshole. Were you really entertained? Really? I’m glad I helped you pay for that entertainment with that fare- the next time I see you reach in your pocket I should ask you how much you’re going to give me for the annoyance you’re causing me? But I digress as always…

Now, I don’t give much allowance for the fact that this beloved country of mine is the most sloven, fat, uneducated and bored on the face of the earth. It’s blindly patriotic inhabitants are not much more than willingly enslaved easily distracted nincompoops who like felines, chase the bright lights against the wall of their lives whenever those in power choose to manipulate them so.

It’s because I don’t give that allowance, enough at least- that I am constantly banging my head against my own wall of disbelief when I encounter the blatant stupidity of the every day New Yorker.

I have to console myself, that in my position, those that I am not exposed to- are likely so much more impressive examples of humanity, and if I were exposed to them, then I might feel more often that we as a species do deserve the right to be here amongst the supposedly lesser evolved inhabitants of planet Earth.

I don’t console myself enough, and it would take alot of faith to believe that the majority truly do not bring down the better minority of this human race. It takes faith just to believe they exist.

In any case, all of this, in the everyday sense applies to New Yorkers, but only because that’s what I’m exposed to.

Recently, America has afforded me, through the situation with this Mosque being built in the downtown Manhattan New York City area, a wider spectrum of understanding when it comes to how many stupids there really are in this country, as well as how deep the stupidity pool goes.

Wow.

There are alot of morons across the country who first of all, don’t have the common sense (are stupid) to hear about this on their local news and say to themselves, “hmm, interesting” and let it be. They somehow, some way, think it has something to do with them and what’s worse- they actually have a synaptic burst that inclines them to think that their opinion actually matters to anyone here in New York???

On what level I wonder do they come to think that they matter in relation to anything here in New York?

Here is a questionnaire for those who feel the actual need to pick up the phone and call New York City to express their opinion on the Mosque.

1. Did you lose a friend, acquaintance, or loved one in the supposed terrorist attack, specifically the one in New York, on 9.11.2001?

If you did, we are sorry for your loss, and welcome you to participate in the ceremonies every 9.11, but in the case of the Mosque, it has nothing to do with you, unless you are Muslim, and will be worshipping there- or are interested in the property for your own purposes. With all due respect, you have better things to do with your time than to worry about this.

If not, mind your business, this isn’t news, there is freedom of religion in this country as there is freedom of speech, and voicing your opposition to the building of any house of worship borders on exposing yourself as a bigot. Can someone tell me if any Churches have been built anywhere near the Oklahoma City bombing? Any crucifixes erected? Any catholic or Christian idolatry placed near there at all? Are those expressions wrong as well? Because that guy was Christian- wasn’t he? Case closed.

2. On 9.12.2001, were you in the city of New York or on the way to the city of New York to assist with the clean up and recovery?

If so, thank you for your help, but the building of this Mosque has nothing to do with you, unless you’re looking for work in demolition or construction- to help the Mosque be built.

If not, where were you? Did you lift a finger to help at all? Waving a flag doesn’t count. There were alot of people missing, did you help look for them, or were you there, where you are now, as you were that day- talking shit- thinking it matters to anyone but you? Keep your opinion to yourself and those other fools who are burdened with listening as if it matters, and far away from a telephone that can reach a New York phone number.

3. Are you willing to come here and protest the building of the Mosque in person?

If so- Shut up and express this opinion in person when you get to the Mosque’s future location. Make sure to spend as much money as you can while you’re here- most tourists end up spending money at Muslim owned kiosks, vendors, news stands, ATM’s, taxis and shops- Just because the Muslim culture is profoundly entrepreneurial. I love the irony, enjoy your stay.

If not- Shut up. Just shut up. When you’re ready to get up off your ass and stand up for what you believe in, book your trip. We’ll be here waiting for you- you idiot.

Need a place to stay when you get here? Be careful when choosing a hotel. You don’t want to be funding terrorism after all- and many of the hotels, both major and minor, are Muslim owned. May I suggest one of the best ones- Jumeirah Essex House. Its lavish and beautiful and historic. many of the celebrity’s you love, stay there when they come to New York. You would be lucky to get a room. And guess what- they won’t discriminate against you if you’re a bigoted American slob.

I could go on asking redundant questions but the disappointment I feel in people will not go away. If it does, it’s because I successfully put them in the back of my mind for the time being- eventually some moron will come along and remind me of the sad state of affairs in this country, and this city.

I for one, want to leave.

And when I do I’ll come back and visit, and enjoy America, and New York, for the amusement park of freaks it is, and ever will be, it seems.

Americans… Do you need to hate to get on?

June 3, 2010 1 comment

The City of New York is being inundated with calls to halt the building of a Mosque in the general vicinity of the Wolrd Trade Center.

I am working on another site at the moment and can’t dedicate too much time to this non-opinion- but I have to take this break and express a few things because of the utter disgust I feel being associated in any way to these bigots.

I am an American, and proud of it. During the Bush administration was the only time I felt shame in being an American. And I would like to continue to defend our country in every debate I have with European immigrants who don’t bother to become citizens and foster anti-American sentiment while taking advantage of its benefits, as well as anyone else who thinks they can criticize without being involved or making themselves a part of the solution. Or anyone else in the same category.

But in cases like these, it’s my fellow Americans that make me ashamed to be their countryman.

Now, it’s not like these bigoted haters can’t get me to be on their side- because I’ll certainly say don’t buiold the Mosque too if they allow me to designate their Church out of zone where I deem it unfit.

The fact is we have freedom of religion in this country, and in my opinion, I think its too intertwined with governemnt, as are the corporations. But we have freedom of religion, and if building any place of worship is within the laws of the zone it’s to be built in- there should be no reason they can’t have it.

I shudder, as I always do- at the ignorance of detractors.

These fucking idiots who feign offense to a Mosque being built anywhere- if you want to prevent it- buy the fucking property and say no as the owner. But no, as it is with many half assed under-educated overweight Americans (I can say that since I’m an American), once you reach in their pocket – they run and hide.

I love these people- they are probably Tea Party or Republican- Religious Right mother fuckers who want smaller government- and again- I see that. I get it. I hear you. But then when somethng like this happens- and they don’t like it- do they prove how little they need government by taking matters into their own hands and using their purchasing power to prevent something fromhappenning? No. What do they do? They get together and ASK GOVERNMENT TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM FOR THEM.

Pussies.

I am an American. I am a New Yorker. I was here on 9-11. And I say build the fucking Mosque.

Build the Mosque and build a Church on one side of it, and a Synagogue on the other side and a Universal church on the other side of the block to theyre back to back, and a Temple Emanu-el across the street.

Then close off the block and let them all destroy each other for all I care.

I’m not gonna get into all the questions about the tragic circumstances of that day- in the end if it was the CIA setting off an operation geared towards taking attention away from the fact the president stole the office from Al Gore- and setting off a corporation backed cascade effect to war and increased profits- or whether it truly was an operation independant of any American espionage meant to simply attack “the infidel” as those supposed radicals have come to call us- it doesn’t matter. The fact is, innocent people died. Heroes died. All needlessly. I mourn them to this day and to the day I die.

To the families of those who died, I’m sorry for your loss, but if you give in to the hate- the same hate that killed your loved ones- we truly do lose part of ourselves as Americans and human beings. It’s better to honor the memory of those who gave their lives and had their lives taken away purely, kindly, and lovingly- than with a closed fist and a closed heart.

Because of your loss you are exempt for sure.

But the lack of intelligence necessary in the common American not to see the obvious fact that if you behave in the way that led people to hate you in the first place (our governemt created the Taliban during the Russian Afgani war and then abandoned them- do your research) then those people will continue hating you and all you are doing is perpetrating the cycle of violence that will never end.

A fist will always be met with a fist.

But an open hand can only be rejected so many times.

Do we as Americans want to end up in the same scenario as Israelis and Palestinians?

If we continue this blind hate of all Muslims, who are some of the best people in the world by the way- then we’ll be there in no time.

Right now there are American troops defiling the arab holy land just by being ON it. God knows the mistakes that are being made and the resentments as a result, and hatred as a result, and vows of vengeance as a result, that are being planted like seeds- to grow into suicide bombers of the future- because of our supposed “necessary” response to 9-11.

Think about it.

What IF we had said no?

What if we had said here is the other cheek?

If the President then, was truly a religious man, a Christian man, that would have been a response appropriate to his supposed faith. But before he was any kind of man of god, he was a capitalist and a hate monger no better than Hitler. And the fucker just got a Facebook page I heard. Really fucking nice.

So he rallied the ignorant and pained, the scorned and hurt, to raise flags and march on the “enemy”.

Can you imagine the reaction of the world if as Americans we took the blow unto ourselves and said we will not lower ourselves to your level?

Remember the anti-American protests all over the world? Get a fucking clue.

Had that course of action been ours, as difficult as it would have been, the world would have rallied behind us and THEY would have condemned those who claimed responsibility- because it would have left them standing there in a singular representation of what is evil and wrong with the world.

Maybe even those who danced around burning our flag in effigy would have felt the shame they SHOULD have felt for such actions… but no, they didnt did they?

Instead- we joined them. Ignorantly sending supposed vengance to their land. And they- felt no self reflection of their fanaticism. Instead they hunkered down for war. Feeling justified in their attack.

Do you GET THAT?

We, by our response- made them feel justified in their attack on 9-11. Say what you will- there is no more factual a statement.

In reality- all we did was we gave Haliburton and other corporations who had a surplus of stockpiled weaponry the excuse they needed to have new fulfilment contracts made out and signed to produce more and more and more death.

Good business. People got RICH.

Dumb sheep.

The same dumb ass sheep who think it’s any of their business any kind of religious center is built anywhere.

Haters who need more hate.

I say anyone who has an opinion about it- sign up for the Marines and go over there. Oh, youre too old? Join the reserves. No? Fuck- then just GO of your own volition- sign a waiver and fight along side the troops- dont you know? They’ll allow it.

With any luck you won’t come back.

And America definitely WILL be a better place.

I’d prefer you take the place of the innocent kid who just needed an education so they signed up to serve their country and were killed or maimed for their social standing- unlike the senator’s son or the CEO’s kid who threw back a few pints at the ivy league brewery before they date raped themselves a night of it.

God Bless America.

I’m spent by you dicks.

Break up the lobbies.

Break up the parties.

Break up the banks.

Break up the corporations.

It’s not like it was ever gone anyway, it’s just not a racial thing anymore- it’s a social-class thing.
